to Westerly as a child. Learned the stone cutting trade in New Haven and worked for several years on the construction of the Capitol at Albany, NY. Bought the store of Albert Carmichael in the building on the south side of the Pawcatuck River Bridge. Operated the newsstand for more than 40 years before selling the business to Frank Holiday before World War I. Married Ann Riley of Westerly. Belonged to Company B of the Connecticut Militia. Was a member of the Ancient order of Hibernians. |
